2 days Atlas trekking

A great way to experience the beauty of the Atlas Mountains is to go on a hike. The landscape is varied, the people who guide you and whom you meet along the way are friendly and welcoming. This is a two-day trek for anyone with basic walking condition, you don't need to be an experienced mountain hiker. A good walking boot is recommended. You will be accompanied by a guide and cook and your luggage will be carried by a mule. The accommodation and meals are basic but well taken care of.

  • Walking boots recommended.

    The weather in the Atlas is cooler than in Marrakech, chilling at night.

    Bring only the luggage you need for the two-day trip. Preferably pack your luggage in a soft bag (no valise, luggage goes on the mule).

    Bed linen is provided. You may find it comfortable to bring your own light sleeping bag.

    Bringing a towel is recommended. The accommodation is basic.

Day 1 - Marrakech - Imlil1700 - Tizi Mzik2400M - Ait Aissa (5-6 hours walk)

You will be picked up in Marrakech at 9am in the morning and taken to Imlil by the driver. There you will meet the mountain guide and load your luggage onto the mule. From the village of Imlil, your hike will start to the col of Tizi Mzik (2489m). From the col, you'll then traverse towards the head of the Azzadene Valley and the lovely Cascada d'Irhoulidene waterfalls which flow year round. You'll then head down the valley via the village of Tizi Oussem to overnight in a Gite in Ait Aissa.  

 

Day 2 - Ait Aissa - Tizi Oudite - Imlil -Marrakech (4-5 hours walk)

After an early breakfast you'll trek up to the Tizi Oudite mountain pass at 2200m. You'll then head down to the villages of Malat and Agersioual in the Imlil Valley for a picnic lunch at the riverside before heading back up to Imlil from where you'll be transferred back to Marrakech.
